About Kindergarten at All Saints

All Saints offers half-day or full-day kindergarten to any child who is at least five years old by September 30.

Curriculum

The focus in kindergarten is on reading (language arts) and math literacy. Students must recognize 12 high-frequency words by the end of kindergarten. Color and number words will also be part of the reading and writing. About 70 words are introduced on our Word Wall for students to reference during reading/writing.

Kindergarten also includes weekly computer lab, physical education, music, art and library.

Handwriting

Students will learn to write in Zaner/Bloser Handwriting. D'Nealian and other letter/numeral formations will also be used during the year.

Evaluations

Progress reports are sent home quarterly. The first report will be issued prior to November conferences. After that, a conference can be scheduled at a parent's or teacher's request.
